Stick with me here, it’s a stretch . . . with the release of the latest batman video game, Batman Arkham City, I am reminded of how much I love the Batman image, the power of the bat signal, and my beloved Batman costume worn as my own personal symbol of a strong, do-gooding, villain fighting, 5 year old – okay, maybe not so much “do gooding.”
Like Superman’s “S” emblazoned on his chest, the bat signal image is just as powerful. This is how Wikipedia describes the bat signal:
“The bat signal is a distress signal device appearing in the various interpretations of the Batman mythos. It is a specially modified Klieg searchlight with a stylized symbol of a bat attached to the light so that it projects a large Bat emblem on the sky or buildings of Gotham City. In the stories, the signal is used by the Gotham City Police Department as a method of contacting and summoning Batman to their assistance in the event of a serious crisis and as a weapon of psychological intimidation to the numerous villains of Gotham City.”
Similarly 😉 , the Red “e” of Red e App, is a service “signal.”. No searchlight . . . yet! But, if you see it online or in a window of a store on any street USA, it means that the business gets it. They get that it is all about quality customer communications and engagement. Not for psychological intimidation to villains, but a psychological symbol of commitment to service. The business is respectful of your privacy, and attentive to the quality and timeliness of communication. When you receive a Red e notification you are going to know it is a notification of importance and of action.
