Brad Feld was in Louisville, KY (our hometown) yesterday (November 2, 2012) to talk about how Boulder, CO has been able to create a startup community. Those in attendance were treated to an open and honest dialogue about entrepreneurship, being a “leader” or “feeder” of a startup community, and also some amazing advice about how the Boulder community embraced a “failed” startup when they chose to shut the doors. You can read more about “The Boulder Thesis” in his book Startup Communities: Building an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Your City.
For the cliff notes version of Brad’s talk, Insider Louisville’s Melissa Chipman wrote a insightful article, After a tear-down of Kentucky, Brad Feld talks building start-up communities at Forge event.
And of course, what event with said tech startup rock star wouldn’t be complete without a photo opportunity. Thanks Brad for imparting wisdom, inspiration, and investing in the next generation (and other cities) of entrepreneurs and startup communities.
