[UPDATE: View the Ptch Storify for a recap of the live Q&A]

ptchWhat if 6 secs and even 15 secs of video just isn’t enough? What if you’d like to create and tell a story with VIDEO, PHOTOS, AND MUSIC and have it last up to a minute? That’s exactly what Ptch, our next #MobileChat guest, is for.

Mobile video has been a hot topic the past month. With Instagram adding 15 sec video and Vine starting the new social / mobile / video media rush, the desire to show more than just a photo is just beginning. For example, Vine describes itself as “the shortened form of something larger. They’re little windows into the people, settings, ideas and objects that make up your life. They’re quirky, and we think that’s part of what makes them so special.”

To get a better idea for what Ptch is, take a look at how one of my favorite college sports teams, The University of Louisville, is using the video platform. While the UofL social media team uses both Vine and Instagram, Ptch allows them more time to combine various media elements into a unified and longer video.

kimberley_blaineTo describe more about Ptch, we’ve invited Kimberley Blaine, @TheGoToMom on Twitter and the Chief Media Mom at Ptch, to be the guest of #MobileChat on July 10th from 9-10pm ET.

Kimberley is well known in the video media industry for her work with parenting videos, and advocacy for mental health and well-being for mothers and young children. We’ll be chatting with her live and doing Q/A about everything from mobile video to what are wise boundaries for parents who use social media.
