[UPDATE: View the Jim Tobin Storify for a recap of the live Q&A]
All would agree that the digital, always-connected world in which we find ourselves today has radically changed how we learn, connect, and communicate.
Some would argue that the new digital reality is a regression of sorts with just more distraction, more noise, more tweets, and more selfies, and just more, more, more.
Others would praise the fast-paced nature of the new digital economy created by smartphones and social platforms. I, of course, would be in this camp but questions that are often asked are:
- What difference does social and mobile make for businesses?
- Should all companies be on social media platforms?
- Should a company’s executive team be on Twitter?
- What about blogging?
- Should a company approach digital and social marketing differently if they are selling their product or services in a B2B (business to business) context verses B2C (business to consumer)?
Jim is also author of the 2013 book, Earn It. Don’t Buy It: The CMO’s Guide to Social Media Marketing in a Post Facebook World, and the 2008 book, Social Media is a Cocktail Party: Why You Already Know the Rules of Social Media Marketing.
If anyone has real-world experience strategizing and executing social media for both small and large businesses, Jim Tobin is the guy.
