Jeff

[UPDATE: View the Jeff Slobotski Storify at the bottom of this page for a recap of the live Q&A.]

In 2008, Jeff Slobotski wanted to do something to highlight startups and entrepreneurs that were not located in the traditional startups hubs. As someone who worked in tech at the time, he was excited about tech startups, but he knew that entrepreneurial hubs like Silicon Valley and New York didn’t have a monopoly on talent. There was talent in his own backyard of Omaha, Nebraska, and he wanted to give them a voice. This prompted Jeff to start Silicon Prairie News, a digital media company dedicated to highlighting startups in and around Omaha, Des Moines and Kansas City. People received Silicon Prairie with open arms, so he started Big Omaha, an innovation and entrepreneurial focused conference.

Fast forward to 2015, and Jeff is still working to build the startup world, but now he is working with more focus on individual startups through his company  Router Ventures, that works to connect entrepreneurs to the resources they need. Jeff is an expert when it comes to tech and the startup world, and we are excited to have him on #MobileChat this week to discuss his journey, why you can build the next big app even if you live in flyover country, and what it takes for a city to become a startup hub among other things.

Join us Wednesday, February 25th from 9-10pm ET via #MobileChat on Twitter for a live Q/A with Jeff as we talk about startup globalization, the importance of relationships, and mobile tech.

Look forward to chatting – Ryson Walden
