In no other industry is timeliness more important than it is in healthcare. Unfortunately though, it is easy to get lost in the noise as a patient. Each year, physicians in America conduct over 1.2 billion patient visits. It is hard to even get in to see a doctor much less to expect one to follow up and make sure things are going well a week later. Things are getting worse, too. The American Association of Medical Colleges says that in 10 years there will be a shortage of 90,000 doctors in the United States. This isn’t an immediate care specific problem either. Across the board in healthcare accountability, follow up, and reminders are lacking whether you are trying to talk to your personal trainer or need to remember to pick up your prescription.
