#MobileChat No. 86 with Tanya Snook

[UPDATE: View the Tanya Snook Storify for a recap of the live Q&A]

How much do you like change in general and at work in particular?

It’s ok, you can admit it. You know you savor the announcement of yet another new HR policy or that memo still sitting on your desk for putting the cover sheet on your TPS-reports.

What about change in the workplace around new technology, especially around mobile? We have discussed topics before on #MobileChat about BYOD, BYOC (Bring Your Own “Cloud”), MDM (mobile device management), etc. Those discussions were mostly about the device. What I want us to consider more in depth is the behavioral human dynamics that happen when new technology – both software and hardware – are introduced into a company and how to plan and prepare for a successful launch and long-term adoption of the employee base.  To help us think through these issues, we’ve asked Tanya Snook to be the next guest of #MobileChat.

Tanya Headshot-3 small

I first met Tanya via Twitter about a year ago. She was participating in another tweet chat (#blogchat – it’s a great one BTW) and have over time followed her mind share on both Twitter and her personal blog. In March, she posted on her blog an exceptionally candid review of her first-hand experience of being on the receiving end of a mobile tablet trial group for her company. In the article, she shares the good and bad, but more importantly, she outlines how to create a positive and open environment in the workplace around tech change management.

Join us Wednesday, April 30th from 9-10pm ET via #MobileChat on Twitter as we do live Q/A with her about new tech adoption in the workplaces as well as her efforts with UXCampOttawa, which seeks to empower and educate others to create tech experiences that just work better.
