Over the past few months, we have received several unique feature requests from our clients and customers that we are excited to announce are now available in the mobile app. Here is an overview of what’s new.
NOTIFICATION SOUNDS
We’ve added a range of sound choices. The existing ‘Whistle’ sound that users have grown accustomed to is still an option and now you can choose sounds ranging from a soft ‘Chime’ to a short and succinct ‘Beep’.
Thanks to great feedback from our healthcare customers we added the option to make the sound, to be honest, obnoxiously loud. We call this sound ‘Siren’. The reason for this feature request is that some medical professionals need to be awoken in the middle of the night. Having a soft sound just wouldn’t work. Moreover, most notification sounds only last for 2-3 seconds. We even added a ‘Siren’ sound that lasts for 30 seconds in duration. We think it’s plenty obnoxious but necessary for nurses and doctors who are being called to emergency action.
To update your sound preferences, navigate to the ‘Settings’ tab of the app. Click ‘Notification Sound’, listen to the various options, and when you’ve found the one you want, click the ‘Update Sound’ button at the bottom.
REPEATING NOTIFICATIONS
Your smart device isn’t always right next to you. What happens if you have a critical message from a contact but you weren’t near your phone when the notification and sound came through? Also, what if you could choose to have some – but not all – of your contacts (both People and Network) repeat if you haven’t read the message yet?
You now have the option for which contacts repeat the notification sound IF AND ONLY IF you haven’t read a message after 5, 10, 30, or 60 minutes. To start having your notification sounds repeat, go to the ‘Settings’ tab in the app and select ‘Repeating Notifications’ and then chose which contacts you would like to have repeating sounds for.
LANDSCAPE SUPPORT
For both iPhone and iPad, landscape orientation is now fully functional in the app.
The above feature updates are just the beginning of what’s in store in 2013 for Red e App. Much more coming soon. We’ll let you know when new features are Red e.
