#MobileChat No. 116: A year in review

Death To Stock Slow

[UPDATE: View the Year in Review Storify at the bottom of this page for a recap of the live Q&A]

Today I was reading a blog post from Ben Evans about “New questions in mobile” and the last section about scale really stuck out to me: “We are now well on our way to having some 3.5bn to 4bn people on earth with a smartphone. This compares to around 800 million consumer PCs, so there will be something like 5 times more smartphones than consumer PCs.” Until I read that, I did not appreciate how “mobile first” the world is (and has to be). The implications of that scale are so profound.

So that got me thinking, what was the biggest thing that happened for mobile in 2014, and what does the #MobileChat community think the  new questions for mobile in 2015 are? Tech moves at the speed of light, so every year is a big year for mobile, but with every advance, there is a new set of challenges to conquer.

Join us Wednesday, December 10th from 9-10pm ET via #MobileChat on Twitter as we chat about what happened this year in mobile, and what is to come. It will be fun and a bit difficult to pin down a couple of events with the most far reaching implications, so get your thinking caps on.

Look forward to chatting – Ryson Walden
