danburcawOur next guest is Dan Burcaw (@Burcaw). Dan is nothing short of a mobile native with extensive experience with mobile strategy, design, and development. Here’s a short bio from Dan’s LinkedIn profile:

Dan Burcaw, Co-Founder of Push IO, a leading real-time push notification services provider. During Burcaw’s tenure, Push IO has delivered over 5 Billion notifications for sports leagues and broadcasters. The company recently participated in VentureBeat’s MobileBeat 2012 Innovation Competition and is launching publicly this fall.

Prior to Push IO, Burcaw founded Double Encore, a top US mobile development agency which builds super-custom native apps. The company has has courted some of the finest brands on the planet.

Burcaw’s career as an entrepreneur began in the early 1990s, through a variety projects taking advantage of emerging technologies of the time including the Internet, Web, and Linux operating system.

In 1999, Burcaw co-founded Terra Soft Solutions, Inc. (acquired by Fixstars) a technology consultancy focused on Linux-based integrated technology solutions. As Chief Technology Officer, Burcaw architected solutions for Fortune 500 companies, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy. Of note, he designed and delivered a multi-million dollar technology solution to Lockheed Martin which was the basis for a high availability sonar image processing platform deployed on board the US Navy submarine fleet.
