[UPDATE: View the Flipboard Storify for a recap of the live Q&A]
Me: “Hey, did you see the article about so-and-so?”
Friend: “No, I didn’t. Can you send me the link?”
Me: “Here is it but it’s not that great to view on mobile. Their site isn’t optimized and there’s a pay wall.”
Friend: “So, I don’t guess I’ll be reading it then.”
Have you had this conversation before? Reading has always been a social experience. Book clubs, reading group forums, and review boards are simply an extension of how people like to share what they’re reading. But reading and sharing on mobile devices – for the most part – is still not a great reading experience. I’m pretty sure I don’t have to convince you of that.
The next guest of #MobileChat’s soul mission is to let people discover and share content in beautiful, simple, and meaningful ways. Or to put it another way, make reading and sharing content on mobile awesome! Name of said guest … Flipboard.
Flipboard is your personal magazine. You find and discover what you want, curate to your taste, and then share with others.
Join us on Wednesday, August 7th from 9-10pm ET as we do live Q/A with Flipboard via their community handle (@FlipboardMag). We will chat about how they are making social reading while mobile great again. And as far as the conversation above, I’m fairly confident after you start using Flipboard, your friends will have a new response about reading links you share with them.
