#MobileChat No. 55 with Ed Chater

[UPDATE: View the Ed Chater Storify for a recap of the live Q&A]

Mobile Media Matters.

  • It matters what types of mobile media you use – emails, pictures, videos, blogs, apps, web, social interactions, and SMS | MMS.
  • It matters in the strategy, planning, execution, and measurements of success or failure.
  • It matters even with the choice of mobile as the medium. Small screens mean small attention spans and faster interactions.

To help us make sense of all that matters with mobile today, we’ve asked Ed Chater, VP of Media at Somo, to be the next guest of #MobileChat.

Ed Charter - Somo

Ed has led Somo’s media operations since 2010, overseeing the management of all of Somo’s media campaigns and working to drive efficiencies, constantly improve results, and define best practice.

He is an expert in app distribution strategy and a specialist in mobile search. He set up the UK’s first mobile search account on Bing, and currently works with Google to improve their mobile search product.

Ed began his career at international market research agency TNS before moving to The Search Works where he worked on some of the industry’s earliest search campaigns, pioneering optimization algorithms, complex QS modeling and studies into consumer online journeys. He launched The Carphone Warehouse on Google mobile search beta tests and his mobile search strategy for Interflora was shortlisted for ‘The Best Use of Search’ at the Revolution Awards.

Ed was recently selected as one of Media Week’s 30 under 30 in recognition of his contribution to the industry.

Ed, and the rest of the Somo team, have one mission in mind: Making Sense of Mobile.  Join us on Wednesday Sept 4th from 9-10pm ET as Ed helps us make sense of what really matters in mobile media.
