Don’t we already have enough mobile messaging apps?

I mean, we’ve already got WhatsApp, MessageMe, Tango, Line, GroupMe, WeChat, BBM, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat and Kik.

YET, in just the past two months anonymous messaging apps like Secret and Whisper have caused quite a ruckus in the tech community.  Plus, a new offline proximity messaging app called FireChat is the new darling of the mobile messaging community.
