In its first week, frontline teams across healthcare, hospitality, and industrial work asked Shelbe the questions they would otherwise stop a manager, call HR, or dig through a binder to answer. Here is what they asked.
Eight categories, one point of access, in the app they already carry.
Nobody on this list is asking anything hard. Every one of these questions already has an answer somewhere: a handbook, a schedule, a benefits guide, a message from last month. The hard part has always been reaching that answer from a loading dock or a guest floor, usually right before a shift.
So we looked at what people actually typed. We grouped the first week of questions into eight categories and trimmed them lightly. The words are theirs.
What the workforce is asking · real questions, lightly trimmed
The everyday life admin of work, answered without a call to HR.
Shift-critical questions, answered before the shift starts.
The front door to every other tool a team member needs.
The “what’s the rule” questions, with the current answer.
On-property logistics for hospitality teams.
Care teams get answers at the point of care.
New hires get oriented in the app they already carry.
Compliance and operating rules, on the floor and on the lot.
The same assistant, shaped to each workforce. Mobile and frontline teams and communities get one place to ask, at any hour, from any site.
Most of these are the questions that used to land on a supervisor or an HR inbox, one person at a time. Do I work tomorrow? How many PTO days do I get? Where can I find paystubs? Each takes seconds to answer and minutes to track down.
The mix also changes by workforce. Hospitality teams ask about conventions and bookings at other properties. Care teams ask about patient transport and a message tied to a prescription. Industrial teams ask about vehicle restrictions and weather rules. It’s one assistant, and it answers from each organization’s own information.
And new hires show up right away. “I’m new here. Give me the tour of the app” is a real first-week question, and a good sign that people treat Shelbe as the place to start.
The single point of access for mobile and frontline work.
