[UPDATE: View the OMG Transit Storify for a recap of the live Q&A]
How do you travel from point A to point B?
Do you use public transit? Are you a bike commuter? Have you used a car sharing program? Lyft or Uber?
How do you navigate?
Do you know how to use a real life map? Apple Maps or Waze?
No matter your preference, I think we can agree getting from point A to point B is one of the most powerful elements of mobile and it has changed the way we look at transportation. We have forgotten how to use traditional maps that have been so important for thousands of years. We are in the midst of a disruption of the century old Taxi Cab industry. Alternative forms of transportation are becoming more popular as the environment suffers and owning/driving your own car becomes more costly in large cities. These things are all directly caused and aided by the rise of mobile.
That doesn’t mean it is simple though. When your own car isn’t an option, traveling in the city can be quite complicated. When is the bus going to come? Will a taxi or an Uber driver be a faster way to travel? Where is the nearest bike sharing dock?
These are all questions OMG Transit can answer for you. OMG Transit helps you get around town without your own car by providing real-time information about buses, trains, car-shares, and bike shares in a mobile app.
Join us Wednesday, September 17th from 9-10pm ET via #MobileChat on Twitter as we talk with @OMGTransit about how they get around and how transportation is evolving.
